Immersive theatre play Lessons (Un)Learned invites you back to your “rebellious” school days

Newly formed theatre company Trunks & Trinkets is presenting previews of a new play about the UK education system and how we comply and rebel against it throughout our school years.

Titled Lessons (Un)Learned, the play is an immersive theatre production, which means there will be audience involvement. The company promises delights such as a giant ball pit, traditional Tudor dancing, dancing dinner ladies, scientific cocktail making, and a school disco.

Trunks & Trinkets have been developing the play at City of Westminster College, and said “the exciting architecture of CWC has heavily informed our work from conception all the way to production”.

As the production is still work-in-progress, the company has stressed the aim of its previews is to “gain invaluable feedback from spectators and also to invite investors who can help bring our theatre piece to a larger public audience”.

They advise wearing comfortable clothing and footwear. A cloakroom is available and the space is fully accessible. Those with extra access requirements should let the company know.

Preview shows are taking on Saturday, August 5, and Sunday, August 6, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Sarah Siddons Theatre, City of Westminster College, London, W2 1NB. The nearest Tube station is Edgware Road.

Audience members must register beforehand via the Lessons (Un)Learned’s sign-up page here, and a minimum £5.00 donation is required.
