Wax Print documentary now streaming for a limited time

An inde­pen­dent doc­u­men­tary uncov­er­ing the untold his­to­ry of tra­di­tion­al African cloth­ing is now avail­able to stream online for a lim­it­ed time.

Wax Print: 1 Fab­ric, 4 Con­ti­nents, 200 Years of His­to­ry is now stream­ing on the Aya Films web­site until August 31.

Aiwan Obinyan, the British-Niger­ian film­mak­er behind the doc­u­men­tary, was set to present her film to audi­ences in Lon­don ear­li­er this year, but was forced to post­pone plans due the Covid-19 pan­dem­ic.

Wax Print tells the his­to­ry of tra­di­tion­al African cloth­ing, uncov­er­ing the peo­ple, cul­ture and busi­ness behind the vibrant fab­rics. The doc­u­men­tary has been screened at inter­na­tion­al film fes­ti­vals and received award nominations.
