Jams of the Week: Haim, Pond, Gotts Street Park, and more

It’s a rock- and psych-heavy set this week. Los Angeles rock goddesses Haim returned, and we’ve got dreamy new sounds from Pond and Skinshape. Plus, an ace debut from UK crew, Gotts Street Park.

And don’t forget to check out our UK Fresh List on Spotify, updated weekly with new music by fledging artists we can’t get enough of, and returning stars.

‘Sweep Me Off My Feet’ by Pond
Aussie group Pond caught our attention with this driving slice of psychedelic pop. Fans of Tame Impala or Temples should definitely check it out.

‘This World (feat. Benny Mails)’ by Gotts Street Park
Gotts Street Park are a production crew from Leeds. This debut track, with London rapper Benny Mails, caught our ear, and we can’t get enough of it.

‘Fountayne’ by Skinshape
Skinshape makes music to chill to – we’re talking, turn-your-phone-off-hop-in-your-hammock-and-listen-to-waves-roll-by kind of chill. It’s psych rock for lovers of The Byrds, Beck and the Allah-Las.

‘Smoke of Dreams’ by Thurston Moore
Former Sonic Youth guitarist Thurston Moore released his fifth solo album last week, titled Rock n Roll Consciousness. His tone on this mysterious song reminds us of Paul Weller and John Cale.

‘Want You Back’ by Haim
It’s been four years since the force of nature that it is Haim swept the globe with their summertime sizzlers. Este, Danielle, and Alana returned with two delicious pop cuts this week in ‘Right Now’ and ‘Want You Back’. The latter is taken from their forthcoming album, Something to Tell You.
