New Waves 2018: Blushes
Showing that guitar bands are far from dead is Blushes: a four-piece from Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, serving up charismatic indie rock akin to Foals, Vampire Weekend and The Maccabees. The band’s debut EP, Private Viewing, brought them to our attention, and has since been picked up by other media and radio. The danceable ‘Hypnotise’ and ‘To the Bone’ are on track to become early favourites among critics and fans.
“We all have the same unrealistic, childish dream of becoming a big name in music and having the power to influence many others with it. 2017 made us realise that dream could be real with enough work. 2018 is now the year where we know it happens or it doesn’t,” Blushes’s drummer Jacob Price tells Fringe Frequency.
Blushes play their first headline London show at The Waiting Room on February 21. They are already gearing up for festival season with new singles on the way, including the soon-to-be-released ‘Honey’.
